Preparation
Are there any steps that must be taken prior to filing a grievance?

First, you should voice your concerns directly to your DCFS or private agency caseworker. If the caseworker does not provide satisfactory assistance, contact the caseworker’s supervisor. If your issue is still unresolved, contact the Advocacy Office either by letter, telephone or email.

Contact the Advocacy Office for Children and Family Services te get help with your complaint. You and an advocate will work together to determine the specific issues and steps that can be taken toward a resolution. If the advocates are unable to answer your question, a better resource will be suggested to you.
