Start by talking to your CPS social worker. If that doesn’t fix the issue, speak with their supervisor. Other options include contacting the Director of Nevada DHHS or Child and Family Services Administrator—or seeking help from an attorney if needed. See Q&A below for more detailed information.

Preparation
Are there any steps that must be taken prior to filing a grievance?

First have a discussion with your social worker to resolve the disagreement. If unresolved, proceed to the social workers supervisor.

Submission
How and where to file the grievance?

Visit the Nevada Department of Health & Human Services Division of Child & Family Services to file a complaint. Other options may include:  

  1. Reach out to the director of Nevada DHHS or Child and Family Services Administrator 
  1. File a complaint with the Ombudsman’s office  
  1. Reach out to an attorney if necessary
