First, try talking to your service worker. If things don’t improve, speak with their supervisor. Still not resolved? Contact the Director of your county’s Children, Youth, and Families (CYF) office. You can also call your Regional CYF Office for help. See Q&A below for more detailed information.

Preparation
Are there any steps that must be taken prior to filing a grievance?

You are encouraged to discuss any concerns or complaints with your service worker first. If unresovled, seek assistance from the supervisor. If concerns continue to be unresolved, you may file a complaint.

Requirements
What information and documents are required in order to file the grievance?

You may have to provide specific information and keep record of the persons involved, date of phone calls, meetings, letters, tasks done, etc.

Submission
How and where to file the grievance?

File a complaint with the Director of your Children, Youth, and Families local office. For information and assistance, you can call the Regional Children, Youth, and Families Office that supervise your county's child welfare system.
