Wondering how to file a CPS complaint in Virginia?
First, try resolving locally. If unresolved, file with the Office of the Children’s Ombudsman. See Q&A below for more detailed information.
- There is an ombudsman office that may be able to help.
Are there any steps that must be taken prior to filing a grievance?
Before filing a complaint with the Office of the Children Ombudsman, you should try to resolve the issue with the local department of social services by talking directly with the supervisor.
How and where to file the grievance?
Each local department of social services has its own procedures. If concern is unresolved at the local level, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Children Ombudsman.
Complete and file the complaint form sending via e-mail to complaints@oco.virginia.gov or send it by mail to the Office of the Children’s Ombudsman
